I need help with popcorn butter?

I have a popcorn maker, so I pop my own popcorn. The only problem is, I am a big fan of the greasy, buttery, and salty popcorn.. like the kind you get at the movie’s. I’ve tried duplicating this at home by melting butter or magarine, but when I pour it on top of the popcorn, the popcorn shrivels up and becomes soggy and pretty much disgusting. Does anybody know how I can duplicate movie theater popcorn at home? Thanks!
