How do I make decent popcorn?
I am a popcorn addict and would like to make my own at home. I bought an air popcorn maker that heated the kernels in a cylinder and they were supposed to pop out into a bowl. It worked, but the burning hot kernels would pop all over the place, half of them rebounding out of the bowl and on to the floor. I then bought an enclosed dome-style popcorn maker that rotates the kernels around a hot plate. It worked fine for a few months, but I don’t know why lately a lot of the kernels end up un-popped and if I leave it running, the popped corn gets overcooked.
People have suggested I pop the corn manually in a big pot, but it seems like a big effort. Any suggestions?
